Downtown Raleigh LGBTQI+ Engagement Session at Boxcar Arcade and Blackbird Books and Coffee with Jess & Tracy
One of the ways that I tend to get creative with my work is by encouraging couples to do something fun and different during our photography sessions.
Jess & Tracy, who are getting married later this year, proposed Boxcar and Blackbird Books as locations for their engagement shoot. Both these locations were easy going, laidback locations where they could interact and do something together, allowing me to capture candid shots such as the genuine joy and laughter during team shooting games, the “I bet I can tell you how this book ends” look of an avid reader, and the adoration for each other and coffee when we stopped for a quick little treat. During this session, I couldn’t help but think back to the retro bowling alley engagement I captured last year. Same vibes and same energy in showcasing alternative engagement shoots for couples getting married!
These photos really capture the essence and real time interactions of a couple who may not be used to being photographed. It helps us evade those stereotypical poses that we see so often on our timelines. These moments are authentic and spontaneous and is why I love doing what I do!
