Night at the Museum Wedding in Downtown Raleigh with Toni & Jeremy

Museum of Natural History Downtown Raleigh Wedding with Tony & Jeremy

Sometimes couples will come to me and mention that they are getting married somewhere totally different and I feel myself getting so excited for them. Nothing wrong with a traditional wedding venue, churches and rustic barns are beautiful and timeless. But a night at the museum with your closest friends and family? That’s pretty awesome.

Toni & Jeremy met in college when they both participated in theatre. He was a lighting designer and she was a dancer. Their dating history involves lots of trips to zoos and aquariums and so it didn’t shock their friends and family when they chose the NC Museum of Natural Sciences as the backdrop for their wedding day.

Personally, I love that they wanted to get married in the museum because it’s something that showcases something they are both passionate about. The museum also features so many different layouts and backdrops based on what you want and the lighting in the room they chose was spectacular for the ceremony photos. Before the ceremony, Toni and Jeremy decided to have a first look, and we were able to walk around the downtown Raleigh area to grab a few wedding portraits. But nothing beats the photos we were able to capture as they walked through the museum exhibits. One of my favorites was the shark jaws!

This wedding was not my first rodeo in a local museum. In fact, one of my favorite wedding spots is at the Durham Life & Science Museum a couple years ago. The butterfly garden is such a unique place for couples to take portraits.

If you’re ever looking for recommendations on unique wedding venues, know that I’ve got a portfolio of proof to show you that non traditional wedding venues are a vibe.
