Intimate Courthouse Wedding in Raleigh with Tanner and Michelle

Intimate Courthouse Wedding in Raleigh with Tanner and Michelle

Michelle and Tanner dreamed of a wedding that was both fun and romantic. They chose a Friday morning for their ceremony at the Wake County Courthouse in downtown Raleigh. It was an intimate affair, just the two of them making promises to each other. They didn’t even bring witnesses, so friends they met in line signed the marriage license.

After the ceremony, we captured the day in pictures in downtown Raleigh. The classic Greek-revival architecture at the North Carolina State Capitol building was the perfect backdrop for their joy.

Before their engagement shoot at the Raleigh Rose Garden, we talked about how they felt in front of a camera. Neither of them enjoy having their pictures taken; however, they felt capturing their wedding day was important. I focused on making the photos feel natural and genuine. The afternoon was a relaxed time together, and their happiness is obvious in every shot.

If posing for pictures makes you anxious, let’s chat. I want to understand you better before we take any photos. We can create images that truly reflect who you are, even if you’re not a fan of the camera.
