Whirlwind Courthouse to Jailhouse Wedding in Asheville with Kelly & Sam
Spontaneous Change in Venue Jailhouse wedding in Asheville with Kelly & Sam
If you’ve ever been a part of a wedding, you know that sometimes not everything goes to plan.
Kelly, a fellow wedding vendor and owner of Colorfields Farms, is one of my good friends and we’ve worked together quite a few times now at different weddings. When she reached out and said she was getting married and wanted 100% documentary wedding photos, I was all on board. I love being able to capture real moments and get the candids that not everyone sees, because when the bride and groom look back they get to see the raw beauty of their special day. And posed portraits are great, but nothing describes a wedding more than documentary pics like these! The reasoning behind Kelly wanting these authentic pictures is because she understands how weddings really go from being behind the scenes all the time.
So it goes to say that as expected… Kelly & Sam’s day did not go as planned. Showing up at the courthouse with everyone, we were in disbelief when there was a sign stating that no weddings would be performed that day.
For some brides and grooms, this would be devastating. But we all just laughed and moved onto plan B… Getting married in front of the only other available magistrate in Asheville… who happened to be in the Jailhouse!!!!
I mean how cool is that?
Anyways, I’ve done a lot of elopement and courthouse weddings, but this was definitely a wedding to remember.
