Whimsical Ethereal Wedding at The Meadows in Raleigh with Emily & Brendan

If you’ve seen some of my previous work, you know that I am very familiar with weddings at The Meadows at Firefly Farm Preserve. But Emily & Brendan’s wedding was definitely one of the more sentimental ones that I’ve photographed at this venue.

Emily’s sister was actually the person who introduced her to Brendan. As his manager at Neomande, she had seen his work ethic and how he was as a person, and just knew that he would hit it off with Emily! Having both graduated from NC State (go Wolfpack!) they eventually moved their lives to Georgia where Emily is pursuing his PhD. They reached out to me shortly after becoming engaged and celebrating 3.5 years together.

The couple decided to have their wedding in Raleigh where their families are. But the most sentimental part of the ceremony was when they combined the soil from where they met and where they currently live for a tree planting ceremony that they performed at the altar. It signified them joining their lives together, a beginning and forever moment, that guests and I found very heartfelt and meaningful. Ever seen a bride with a shovel on her wedding? Me neither!

The Meadows is always a wonderful venue to work at and always brings me great joy. No matter what season, there is always a beautiful way to capture love in the air.
