Picnic Engagement Photos at Dorothea Dix Sunflower Fields with Sammie & Mary-Hannah
Slutty Sunflower Field Picnic at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh with Sammie & Mary-Hannah
One of my favorite seasons to capture here in North Carolina is sunflower season! And when their original engagement session was rescheduled due to rain, I proposed a new idea. Sunflowers, a picnic, and magical time frolicking through the lanes.
Sammie & Mary-Hannah met each other while planning Mary- Hannah’s sister’s engagement. (Small world with a lot of love!!!) They have been together for a little over two years now and got engaged last December. The proposal was intimate, in their home, and their favorite take out sushi made an apperance. But the best part of it all is that it turned into a double proposal, because they both had rings ready for each other and proposals in mind. Sammie & Mary- Hannah will be eloping to Washington later this year for their wedding and I couldn’t be more excited for the two of them. They actually found me through my blog and saw the results of the timeless romantic wedding I shot of Julia and Dylan! As Wilmington natives themselves, they are quite familiar with The Little Loaf Bakery and the love that transpired there.
I enjoyed our picnic session and their complimenting dresses and cowboy boots. It was a very effortless experience because every time I posed them in the field or asked them to run towards me in the flower lanes, they did so with such ease and grace and filled my lens with so much love and adoration! The sun was working with us too and there were no signs of the rain, which made for such a splendid afternoon to celebrate their love and story.
