Creative Engagement Idea in Raleigh with Austin & Morgan

One thing I’ve loved about the pandemic, is people are becoming more creative. They are channeling their creative energy and talent into almost anything. And that’s no exception for creative engagement and portrait sessions. When I saw several people hosting movie nights, accompanied by pillow forts and pillows I wondered what that would look like in the form of a couple session.

Luckily I’ve worked with Austin and Morgan before (you can view their Spooky Addam’s Family Themed Couple Session here) and they were up for the challenge. Even drilling holes and stringing up actual, durable string to hold the plethora of sheets for this session. Austin even broke out the flashing lights that he used to have in his apartment in college for a fun, Euphoria, psychedelic vibe.

If you’re trying to come up with some Creative Engagement Session Ideas

here are my top five:

  1. Pillow Forts: I mean what’s better than comfy clothes and an afternoon snuggling with your love?

  2. Pools/Showers/Bathtubs: Honestly anything that involves WATER is always a fun an exhilarating time. (For an example click here)

  3. Re-Create a Movie : Looking for something truly unique? I’ve always wanted to re-create some movies. Baby Driver is HIGH on my list. But just like how Morgan and Austin dressed up as the Addam’s Family. It’s a fun time.

  4. Fast Food: I’ve been hanging at a lot of fast food joints lately for my clients and I love a casual date night. We get to eat food, hang out, get to know each other and take some fun photos. (Check out this session at Char-Grill here)

  5. Grungy: Who doesn’t want to make off the beaten paths sexy. Channel your inner grungy power couple. (Here’s one of my favorite examples)
