DOCUMENTARY FAMILY PHOTOS AT THE RALEIGH ROSE GARDEN

As Christmas time approaches, moms will hurriedly look for the best photos of their family to send to family and friends. But what is the best time to have these family photos taken if you are considering a professional holiday card?

Well…

Often times, Autumn is very popular because of the colorful display of leaves, especially in NC. We have such a variety of offerings from The Rose Garden to Dorothea Dix park in Raleigh, NC and beyond this I can think of Duke Gardens and Coker Arboretum as a couple of examples. Another reason autumn is such a big hit is because it’s close to the end of the year and a good representation of where the kids are now as the cards are about to be sent out. Most importantly, there is better weather, it’s cooler so there’s less of a chance for temper tantrums during the shoot which means more photo options to choose from.

However, Spring can also be a good time as well. They say that April showers bring May flowers, and as winter disappears and flowers start to bloom, it’s such a great time to smile among the greenery and enjoy the first bits of the outdoors. After a good rainstorm, you also have a nice little glisten that can be captured in the family photos that can always add some texture and brightness to the photos.

Summer can be a great time too with strawberry farms and beach trips. It tends to be a bit hot but because summer is such an outdoor season, it will be so easy to find new ways to have someone capture your family doing the things you love best!

There truly is no specific season for family photo shoots and if you end up grabbing one for each season, you’ll have such great visual representation of the growth throughout the year for those holiday cards. The “year in review” styled holiday card is so fun to send and even more fun to receive.
