I know this sounds cliché, but you and your kids will have such a fun time making new memories. Having the chance to dress up and goof around outdoors is just a great way to have an out of normal day with your family. I don’t really practice the posed style of photography and prefer a more prompted format to the day. I’ll encourage you to perform natural interactions rather than telling you to smile at the camera, because I’ve learned that prompting allows for more authentic smiles and results. Expect to really use the background you’ve chosen so that we can get the best shots. This might mean sitting in park benches or walking through the field or even laying down in the grass. We want to make sure we take where you’ve chosen and use the background to its full advantage.
While we’re on the topics of choosing a background, if you ever aren’t sure where you want to take your photos, I have such a vast knowledge of the triangle area. I have worked in many of the nearby parks and in different venues all around NC and I can always show you what your photos may look like by showing you some of my favorite shots from my portfolio. I also am very open to discussing and working with you to find the perfect place for the aesthetic you have in mind and I am very easy to get in touch with. If you need help with outfit planning or aren’t sure, I also LOVE to make mood boards to assist you and the collaboration truly goes a long way with the results.
I guess at the end of the day, the big point I want you to take away from this is that, the photos you receive from me will reflect your family. That is my main goal as a photographer and one that resonates in all the pictures I’ve taken. I try to take everything you have told me you enjoy and want to get out of the session and translate that with my art. No two families are the same so it’s important to make sure everything that makes yours special is shown in the photos you receive.
