Grace & Javier - Hillsborough Courthouse Elopement

Let’s talk about dream clients. Grace contacted me on a whim, we had a phone call, and her first words, I want a long veil and a short dress. SOLD. Your girl is a sucker for a long veil and a short dress. I don’t know why but theres something so New York about it. I didn’t even watch Sex and the City but that is where my mind goes immediately when I see this combo. And Grace’s entire outfit was so chic, even down her studded purse.

These two decided to get married at the Hillsborough Courthouse because she was sold on the historic courthouse and its amazing columns in the front that totally elevate the day. Fun fact: this is the first wedding I’ve shot here where the couple actually got married in front of the court house and you know what I’m here for it.

While we did take a minor detour, (they forgot the marriage license at home) the magistrate was super nice and got them married only 30 minutes behind schedule. These two met overseas, and shared many vespa rides together, so when they said they brought one along to take photos on I was internally (and maybe externally) screaming! How stinking cute right. Their friends even acted as veil holders so it would have a very “blowing in the wind” type of look.

Then the best part - they had Raleigh Picnic’s set up an amazing reception picnic for them at the park. They even helped find the cake (which was stunning) the entire day was truly gorgeous and high class and you know what…… it cost less than 5k. If you’re thinking about planning a courthouse wedding in the Raleigh-Durham area I’d love to get you set up with some of my favorite vendors and capture the day of your dreams.
