Hauntingly, Murderous Halloween Shoot with Tanya & Crystal
If you ever committed murder, who would you picture being by your side to help you bury the body? Just food for thought.
When Tanya & Crystal came to me with the thought of having a Halloween Mini session, I was immediately on board. I love everything about the autumn for wedding season, but what I love even more are the ghoulish ways that friends, couples, and families will want to capture some spooky season photos. And these two best friends came to me with the most magnificent idea to celebrate not just their friendship but their favorite season.
I’ve done many cemetery photo shoots for couples celebrating their anniversaries or who just find that they want to celebrate their love & impending nuptials in a place of death and beauty. Those are always such a great night time shoot.
But this Umstead photo session took us on a journey and told a story in such a creatively, haunting manner. We committed a fake murder in ghost masks by the river and then buried a (pretend) body after debating tossing into the water to be found later. And don’t even get me started on the bat and crossbone tights that they found to wear. Everything from the props to the idea for this session was just a dream for every Halloween loving photographer! And what a different and creative way to capture a solid friendship!
