Downtown Durham Courthouse Wedding & Reception at Weldon Mills - Audrey & David

Courthouse weddings have become increasingly popular in recent years for their simplicity and convenience. The charm of courthouse weddings lies in their efficiency and affordability, as they often require minimal planning and decoration. Yet, despite their simplicity, courthouse weddings can be incredibly meaningful and romantic, emphasizing the true essence of the couple's love and commitment to one another.

Before the wedding I met David and Audrey at their apartment downtown as they celebrated with friends over champagne and of course with their adorable cat. Minou. These two met on Bumble 7 years ago, and considered themselves life partners already. Having traveled the world, gone on a million adventures, and started their lives together all they needed was that piece of paper to make it official.

This wasn’t just their wedding day but Audrey’s graduation from med school. She’s headed to Charlotte to be a kick-ass OBGYN, and I know these world travelers will have the time of their lives exploring a new city.

My favorite part of their Downtown Durham wedding day was when Audrey Facetime’d David’s mom in the middle of their ceremony, and the officiant was so nice and offered to start over, but they were truly go with the flow people! Their favorite part of the day was the Raspberry swirl cake they ordered (and boy was it delicious) They decided to have their reception at Weldon Mills Distillery in Downtown Durham, which just opened and was the perfect spot for a laid back reception. They took care of everything and were so welcoming to everyone who attended.
