Grad Photos at Duke University with Daisja, Nic, Isabel, Justin, and Mira

Duke University is such a well known campus for it’s gothic architecture and it is such a beautiful place to capture graduation photos. It offers so many different backgrounds from the quads, the chapel, the garden, etc. The neutral colors of the buildings and the trees in the quad also help the graduation robes stand out in a beautiful way.

Graduation is a momentous occasion to celebrate not only the educational achievements of the graduate, but also the friendships that were made along the way. That is why I love when clients hit me up to capture their graduation photos in groups. I love hearing about the friendships that were founded when hall mates became friends freshman year or when a group of students who found themselves in the same classes ended up forming trauma bonds with one another through late night cramming sessions.

What is awesome as a photographer, is that often times, the graduates will also take me on the journey of their friendship by taking me to new places on the campus that mean something to them to have photos taken. I loved getting to know Daisja, Nic, Isabel, Justin, and Mira, and hear all about their different journey’s and interests. Nic was the only NC native and the rest have made NC their home after four years at Duke. Everyone of them have such bright futures ahead and I wish them nothing but the best in this upcoming chapter.

These group graduation photos are often a lifelong momento that will be treasured for years to come. They represent not only the celebratory “we did it!” but will also help you remember the people who helped you along the way.

So to Daisja, Nic, Isabel, Justin, Mira and the rest of the 2024 Duke Graduates… Congratulations! And here’s to the friendships made along the way!
