Classic, Elegant Civil Ceremony at Raleigh Courthouse with Katie & Anna
The most important thing about being a photographer is making sure that your clients feel comfortable being themselves around you and feel like your art will capture their true selves. Anna & Katie shared with me on their initial email that for them “it’s important for a photographer to not have bias against the fact that we are gay, so that we can fully be ourselves and take photos that show how happy we are.” This made my heart so happy because I do want to make sure that members of the LGBTQIA+ community feel included and that they know they should be proud of and feel able to share their love, because it’s beautiful. I hear so many stories of how people meet and fall in love and I love being able to celebrate that with all my clients.
Katie & Anna have always envisioned a private and intimate wedding day and for that reason they chose to get married at the Wake County Courthouse. They understand the big thing I try to tell all my clients, which is: the wedding day is about YOU, the couple.
Knowing that they can tend to be anxious as the center of attention, they wanted to make sure they could dedicate their wedding day to each other, and not have to worry about all the stress of having a big party. Anna shared that one of the things that Katie does best is portraying how in love she is with Anna through her facial expressions. I know that by looking through these photos it is quite evident with how they both stare longingly at each other and share knowing looks that this beautiful couple is head over heels for one another. There was so much laughter, smiling, and the simplicity of the whole day was the perfect way for them to legalize their union and begin their journey as a married couple.
