Judith & Trey - Waffle House Elopement

Have you ever wanted to get married at a Waffle House? Most people haven't really ever thought of the 2am, drunken fueled, Waffle House as a marriage destination but Judith had decided long ago that this was where she was going to tie the knot!

First off let’s back up four years, to when I first met Judith. I was running a creative community that brought young business owners together to chat about work issues, find camaraderie, and have allies in a typically lonely market, and Judith signed up for one of our meet and greets. She was only about two years into her business and I was so eager to watch her grow. I immediately wanted to be her friend and I actually shot one of her first campaigns at her in home workshop.

Fast forward to 2020, I’ve been a customer (Pumpkin Soap anyone!?) and she reached out to capture her Waffle House elopement. Then the pandemic hit and all the shit hit the fan….. and yet Judith’s business was trucking along and thriving, so much so that I actually came on board as her Creative Director.

Seriously ya’ll go to Good JuJu Herbal’s website right now and snag yourself some amazing products. I literally can’t even travel without bringing her stuff with me and I don’t know how I lived so long without it.

But anywho…. we aren’t here to talk soap (Although seriously, go check out her products) we are here to talk about the amazingly, TikTok Viral Waffle House wedding that was. It was supposed to rain on Judith’s wedding day, I’m talking Hurricane headed straight for us and somehow the rain held off the ENTIRE day to make sure her wedding went off without a hitch. She stayed up all night decorating her own backyard for an intimate affair with her friends and family (her dad even officiated the wedding). Desserts were on deck, vows were shared, Judith’s dress was made from vintage curtains, she cut Trey’s mullet in their kitchen, and her $10 Walmart rain boots came in clutch. Basically this was the perfect wedding for Judith and Trey. And that’s what really matters ya’ll, making your day 100% about you and what you want to do!
